Our lightweight flooring solutions for the commercial vehicle industry combine innovative construction methods – ranging from traditionally bonded GRP variants to welded mono-material composite elements. Compared to conventional flooring solutions, they offer significant weight-saving potential, contributing to reduced resource consumption and improved energy efficiency.
Slip-resistant surfaces, easy installation and the circular lifecycle of our mono-material composites make them the ideal solution for a wide range of applications in vehicle construction.
A lightweight panel consisting of two strong facing sheets (GRP, thermoplastics, aluminum, wood/HPL) and a lightweight core (PU, XPS, PET, PP honeycomb, PC honeycomb), engineered to achieve optimal stiffness with minimal weight.
Yes. Panel processing such as cutting, drilling, milling, riveting and bonding can be carried out without any issues.
Depending on the product requirements, bonding is carried out using hot-melt PU adhesive systems or two-component PU adhesives; thermoplastic products can also be welded together.
Sustainability is part of our DNA as a lightweight construction manufacturer. Our goal is to develop resource-efficient alternative structures and problem-solving solutions to conventional designs. Our ESG strategy provides a detailed overview of our pioneering role within the industry.
Key highlights include the use of 95% renewable energy in Scope 1 and 2, the development of welded mono-material composite elements, and the continuously increasing use of recycled raw materials in our products.
Lightweight elements reduce resource consumption and help increase payload capacity.
Side walls, roofs and self-supporting floors for truck bodies.
Significantly lighter (up to 70% weight reduction)
Corrosion-free, rot-resistant and low-maintenance
High bending and compressive stiffness
No. As most projects are implemented using customer-specific profiles. In addition, the market offers a wide range of standard profile solutions in various thicknesses.
Yes, repairs to sandwich panels are generally possible. Different repair guidelines can be requested directly from Design Composite (DC).
Standard formats are available up to 6,000 × 2,450 mm. Special formats of up to 13 m in length or 2.90 m in width can be manufactured on request. Please refer to the relevant data sheet.
Elements should be stored indoors in a flat position on pallets. High point loads should be avoided to prevent damage.
Yes. A specially developed product line is made of welded, homogeneous thermoplastics (TOP-lite PP, TOP-air PP). Due to the homogeneous material structure, 100% recyclability is possible.
Elements consisting of different material combinations, on the other hand, can be thermally recycled.
Yes. Inserts such as wood, aluminum profiles, PVC or PET rigid foam can be integrated.
Yes. TOP-air antislip offers a durable and moisture-resistant alternative and helps to significantly reduce weight by approximately 50–60%, depending on the panel thickness used.
Yes. Thanks to our comprehensive service capabilities, elements can be supplied ready to install.
Balcony flooring is available with a sanded anti-slip surface in RAL 7030 stone grey. For event flooring, black welded anti-slip surfaces are also available as an option.
GRP antslip has a slip resistance class of R13.

The main advantage lies in an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Design Composite is certified according to ISO 9001.
The location of our company inspires the entire team every day to actively contribute to reducing environmental pollution. Surrounded by unspoiled mountains and meadows, design composite relied on state-of-the-art ecological construction methods when building its new production facility in the Salzburg region of Pinzgau.
The measures implemented have resulted in a positive energy balance and enabled the sustainable reduction of a calculated CO₂ emission equivalent of 140 tons per year.
For us, sustainability is more than a goal – it is an integral part of our corporate strategy.
Through innovative technologies, a responsible supply chain, and a clear ESG focus, we develop sustainable solutions that meet the requirements of tomorrow.
