Design Composite » Architecture
Our architectural panels offer architects, planners and designers a high degree of design freedom. By combining translucent honeycomb cores with high-quality polycarbonate or acrylic facing sheets, we create materials that impress aesthetically while delivering outstanding functional performance.
Key Benefits of Our Architectural Panels
Transparency & Light Effects: Create distinctive visual effects through the structure of the honeycomb cores.
High Structural Stability: Robust and durable, even in large-scale applications.
Custom Design Options: A wide range of colors, structures and surfaces for creative concepts.
Sustainability: Resource-efficient materials, recyclable solutions and long service life.
Applications
Our panels are used in a wide variety of applications – from façades and roof structures to interior walls, partitions and ceilings, as well as creative custom design solutions.
They create bright, open spaces with a distinctive architectural language.
Tailor-Made Solutions
Every project is unique – which is why we develop tailor-made panels and support architects and clients from initial concept to final implementation.
This results in solutions that set new standards both aesthetically and technically.
All of our architectural products are part of our ESG mission: maximum sustainability combined with innovative solutions. We rely on recycled and bio-based raw materials and continuously develop new approaches to make the architecture of tomorrow even more environmentally responsible.
BIO-BASED
PC ECO is a face sheet with a bio-circular material content and a reduced CO₂ footprint.
This means that the portion of the material normally produced from fossil-based resources is replaced by renewable raw materials. The attributed sustainable content accounts for up to 83% of the total material content.
100% R-MMA
What makes Greencast unique is that it is manufactured entirely from recycled acrylic (R-MMA) while offering the same properties as standard acrylic glass made from virgin synthetic monomer.
The distinctive honeycomb cores for clear-PEP® elements are manufactured on a specially developed and patented core-drawing system. The innovative characteristics of the cell structure not only give the panel a unique sense of depth, but also provide exceptionally high stiffness.

Using a specialized bonding technology, honeycomb-like cores can be combined with transparent facing sheets to create panels with a unique visual appearance.
AIR-board® elements can be supplied with bio-based polycarbonate facing sheets or, alternatively, with facing sheets made from 100% recycled acrylic (R-MMA), available in a wide range of colors and surface finishes.

Our backlit lightweight sandwich panel is the ideal solution for high-end decorative applications in architecture and interior design. It consists of a light-transmitting natural stone laminate that is fully bonded to an equally light-transmitting sandwich panel.
The combination of genuine natural stone, low weight and modern sandwich construction enables impressive lighting effects while maintaining high structural stability.
When backlit, the panel creates striking visual effects that enhance the atmosphere of a space—ideal for wall cladding, furniture, counters or interior façade elements.
The panel impresses with its natural aesthetic and ease of processing.
Backlighting is the most effective method. Satin-finished surfaces diffuse the light evenly, while high-gloss finishes emphasize the crystalline character. Side lighting is less effective.
Yes, for example with clear-PEP ECO PC stage in a thickness of 40 mm. Walkability depends on the structural design and applied loads; a structural calculation can be provided if required.
For PMMA/acrylic, the facing sheets consist of 100% recycledR-MMA, while the polycarbonate (PC) facing sheets contain 83% bio-circular material.
clear-PEP ECO PC clear and AIR-board ECO PC clear comply with fire classification B-s1,d0 and B-s2,d0 respectively, in accordance with EN 13501.
Yes. For outdoor applications, clear-PEP with polycarbonate face sheets is suitable.
Partially. One-dimensional forming is only possible with clear-PEP panels featuring PMMA / acrylic facing sheets or acoustic panels.
Yes. Thanks to their innovative core geometry, they provide effective shading performance.
Standard sizes: 3,000 × 1,000 mm (colored) and 3,000 × 1,220 mm (clear).
Maximum size: Up to 4,500 × 2,000 × 40 mm available on request.
Standard thickness: 19 mm.
For flooring applications: 40 mm. Please refer to the relevant data sheet.
Depending on the application, up to six different edge solutions are available. Please contact us directly for further details.
Depending on the project, panels can be installed using profiles, point fixings or adhesive bonding methods. It is important to take the thermal expansion of the panels into account.
The location of our company inspires the entire team every day to actively contribute to reducing environmental pollution. Surrounded by unspoiled mountains and meadows, design composite relied on state-of-the-art ecological construction methods when building its new production facility in the Salzburg region of Pinzgau.
The measures implemented have resulted in a positive energy balance and enabled the sustainable reduction of a calculated CO₂ emission equivalent of 140 tons per year.
For us, sustainability is more than a goal – it is an integral part of our corporate strategy.
Through innovative technologies, a responsible supply chain, and a clear ESG focus, we develop sustainable solutions that meet the requirements of tomorrow.
