Design Composite » Acoustic
High-quality room acoustics improve well-being, focus and productivity. With our innovative acoustic panels, we combine sound absorption, transparency and design in a single product.
The panels consist of micro-perforated, light-transmitting facing sheets and a clear or colored honeycomb core. This combination enables effective sound absorption without compromising brightness and lightweight performance.
Transparency and light transmission for bright, open spaces
Custom design options in color, shape and finish
Durable and sustainable, thanks to high-quality materials and precise manufacturing
Using a specialized bonding technology, honeycomb-like cores can be combined with translucent, micro-perforated face sheets to create panels with a unique appearance (light transmission of approx. 60%) and effective sound absorption. The elements offer a wide range of possibilities for customized acoustic solutions in terms of core design, geometry and special effects. Printed panels, formed shapes, special edge details and the production of ready-to-install systems are all possible.
AIR-board acoustic is a double-sided sound-absorbing acoustic element with up to 85% sound absorption (sound absorber class C for wall and ceiling applications and class D when used as a freestanding partition). The elements significantly improve room acoustics by noticeably reducing reverberation.
AIR-board® acoustic quiet features one micro-perforated face sheet and one closed face sheet. This configuration allows the panel to function as both sound-absorbing and sound-insulating (up to 28 dB), making it ideal for lining translucent partition walls.
Yes. Thermally formed panels are available on request.
AIR-board acoustic complies with fire classification B-s1, d0.
Yes. AIR-board acoustic quiet was specifically developed for this purpose. These elements provide sound insulation of up to 28 dB while simultaneously offering sound absorption with an NRC of 0.30. The standard version, by comparison, provides only approx. 6 dB of sound insulation.
Backlighting is recommended; a satin finish ensures uniform light diffusion.
The standard version is clear / transparent.
Colors can be added afterwards using digital printing.
They combine high light transmission with excellent sound absorption (NRC up to 0.70) and can be easily integrated into interior fit-out applications.
Yes. Various edge-sealing options are available.
A sound absorption level of NRC 0.7 can be reached if installed as a wall/ceiling covering.
No. AIR-board acoustic elements are intended for indoor use only.
Yes. Special formats up to 3,600 × 1,220 mm and a thickness of up to 35 mm are available, subject to minimum order quantities.
2,500 × 1,220 mm and 1,800 × 1,220 mm, available in thicknesses of 19 mm or 25 mm. Please refer to the relevant data sheet.
The location of our company inspires the entire team every day to actively contribute to reducing environmental pollution. Surrounded by unspoiled mountains and meadows, design composite relied on state-of-the-art ecological construction methods when building its new production facility in the Salzburg region of Pinzgau.
The measures implemented have resulted in a positive energy balance and enabled the sustainable reduction of a calculated CO₂ emission equivalent of 140 tons per year.
For us, sustainability is more than a goal – it is an integral part of our corporate strategy.
Through innovative technologies, a responsible supply chain, and a clear ESG focus, we develop sustainable solutions that meet the requirements of tomorrow.
